This keyboard is amazing everything pre lubed and stabilizers are pretty good it’s a amazing cheap keyboard

I found the performance of the Redragon K617 a mixed bag. On the one hand, it features some unique features aimed to provide better gaming performance. However, there are some negative feel issues from the keycaps and the plate stiffness that detract from the overall experience.

The adjustable actuation magnetic switch actually works the way it’s described. I adjusted the actuation distance to .1 mm on one key and 4 mm on the adjacent key, then tested them out. I was able to distinguish the travel distance from one key to the other. Likewise, I assume that the 8K Hz polling rate ensures accurate detection of keyboard inputs.

I will also compliment the K617 for the crispness of the shine-through key markings that have minimal sized breaks for the closed loop letters (ex. A, B, P, R, 8, 0, etc.). The keyboard lighting is also nice and bright, with a nice assortment of preset lighting settings.

Although the keyboard base is plastic, it’s surprisingly rigid and doesn’t flex under pressure – which is a positive attribute for the overall keyboard. However, this brings me to the first issue when typing. The mounting plate for this keyboard is extremely rigid, resulting in almost no flex whatsoever when typing. When you press a key down if feels like it is bottoming out against a steel anvil. While I found typing on this keyboard to be very accurate, my fingers seemed to fatigue quickly due to the lack of flex.

Next, I like the gradient keycap colors – but the markings of the secondary functions don’t have sufficient contrast on some of the keys. Most noticeable (or not noticeable in this case) are the delete and insert keys. Under certain lighting conditions these markings simply disappear. I’m sure you’d get used to this if this is the keyboard you use on a daily basis; but if you swap out other keyboards this becomes problematic.

My final small gripe is that the USB cable exits to the left side of the keyboard, which might not be optimal for some setups.

In summary, I was hoping that this keyboard would hit a high mark with its performance gaming features but found it lacking in some of the core typing attributes that detract from its overall appeal.

Along from the software, everything s amazing, and me personally, I like the gradient color.

My son Jeremiah loves this keyboard. He says it's the best one. He's had many other ones, but this is his favorite.
